•  If the car is over 4 hours late, you will be charged an additional day at the daily rate.
• Cars cannot be taken out of Costa Rica.
• The cost of the additional driver is: US $3.
•  Debit cards and cash are not accepted for the deposit. Only credit cards.
• Adobe Rent-a-car offers meet-and-greet service at the airport, when exact flight details are provided. Renters will be received at the external arrival gates by an Adobe Rent-a-Car representative.
• Complimentary delivery of the car to your hotel in the cities we attend.

The rate includes a basic liability insurance with a maximum protection of US$20,000 for damages to third parties´ property, and US $100,000 per accident, for injury or death of third persons not travelling in the rental car. No deductible.

• LDW / Loss damage waiver: For an additional daily fee, the renter can waive his financial responsibility in case of damages to the rental car, caused by car accident, collision or rollover.  It also protects against financial losses in case of a total or partial theft of the automobile. The LDW has a deductible (excess) of US$1,000 – US$1,500. The cost of the LDW varies with the car category and goes from US$14 per day to US$25per day. The LDW is not insurance.  It is mandatory.
• SPP / Supplemental Protection Plan: The SPP allows the renter to waive the deductible (excess) of the LDW for a daily extra cost.   It also covers against cases of vandalism, destroyed tires or broken windows; as well as free 24-hour specialized roadside assistance, including towing in case of an accident (restrictions apply).  In the liability area, it extends the limit of the coverage up to US $5,000,000 per event, and it covers bodily injury and profit loss.

1. – When the driver has any incident and is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2. – Damages   or   accidents   that   occur when   the   rental   car was driven   by   a   non-authorized person.
3. – Damages of any type caused by driving through rivers, lakes, beaches, flooded roads or off-road.
4. – If an accident is not reported to Adobe Rent-a-Car immediately, or if the driver does not cooperate or does not follow the insurance & LDW claiming process.

GPS

Rate: US$ 9 daily

Conditions:

1. – A US$250 deposit is required in case of damage or loss.
2. – Deposit should be made with a credit card.
3. – Subject to availability.
4. – Previous reservation is recommended.

Specialized Road Assistance

Free if you choose SDW Insurance.

Includes:

1. – Towage service for the rented vehicle, when involved in an event.
2. – Continued trip service for the client to the next destination. This is done by taxi.
3. – Basic roadside assistance at the site.
4. – Locksmith service in case of keys misplaced, or locked inside the vehicle.
5. – Ambulance service, in case of a medical emergency due to an accident.
6. – 24 hour service.
7. – Bilingual receptionist.

Excludes

1. – Tire change.

Other

1. – Rental of baby seat: US$3 per day.
2. – Rental of booster seat: US$1 per day. The use of booster seat is mandatory in Costa Rica for children 4 to 12 years of age.
