DAY 1: ARRIVE IN SAN JOSE –
Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. Upon clearing immigration and customs, exit the airport and meet your driver who will be waiting for you. Board the van for the 20 minute drive to San Jose. Check-in to a Room -standard room at SLEEP INN HOTEL for 1 night.
DAY 2: TORTUGUERO (NORTHERN CARIBBEAN)
Early morning pick up at hotel for ground and boat transportation to MAWAMBA LODGE, located in the midst of Tortuguero National Park, a tropical rainforest, and a navigable network of lakes and channels that crosses the area from southeast to the northwest. This allows a great diversity of fauna and flora of the region to be observed close at hand. Additionally, it is the most important nesting site in the western half of the Caribbean for the Green Turtle. The tour to see the Green Sea Turtles laying eggs at night is only possible during the months from July to October. (B) (L) (D)
DAY 3: TORTUGUERO (NORTHERN CARIBBEAN)
Early next morning, nearby howler monkeys often provide a natural alarm clock at first light, and for those interested in birds, this is the time to see many species of hummingbirds, parrots, toucans, woodpeckers, and finches that abound around the lodge. After breakfast, board your boat with local guide for a day of tours on Tortuguero’s network of lakes and channels. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge. (B) (L) (D)

DAY 4: TORTUGUERO/PUERTO VIEJO (SOUTH CARIBBEAN BEACHES)
After breakfast, return to the docks, where your driver will meet you and take you to HOTEL AZANIA BUNGALOWS, located on Costa Rica’s Caribbean side.
This area offers abundant wildlife, pristine rain forest and plenty of activities for the adventurous. The two charming villages of Puerto Viejo and Cahuita start to live on reggae rhythms at sunset with an authentic Afro-Caribbean atmosphere. Visitors will find lots to do in the area, beginning with sunbathing and swimming along the miles of white, sand and coral beaches. (B) (L)
DAY 5: PUERTO VIEJO (SOUTH CARIBBEAN BEACHES)
Free day to explore this area that’s full of life. You can go to Manzanillo Reserve, downtown Puerto Viejo, Cahuita National Park. Overnight at Azania Bungalows (B)
DAY 6: PUERTO VIEJO (SOUTH CARIBBEAN BEACHES)/PACUARE RIVER/ ARENAL VOLCANO

One Day Trip
This one day excursion begins with an early morning pick up from your hotel. We will depart and shortly after stop for a lovely typical breakfast and then continue on to Tres Equis where we may have to switch to a 4×4 (depending on road conditions) which will take us down to the “put in’ spot on the river.
Before our river departure your knowledgeable bilingual guide will be sure to explain all safety instructions. We will then proceed down this picturesque river and have lunch on a riverbank, where you can take in the warm tropical sun and just relax before heading out for the last stretch of the trip. The total river time is around five hours with a “take out’ time around midafternoon. Awaiting you at the take out point will be your shuttle back to Arenal Volcano.
Important: Note that the minimum age to participate in this tour is 14 years old. No pregnant women are allowed on this tour.
What to Bring: Sneakers or sandals with a back strap, cotton T shirt, over the knee shorts or long light pants, light rain jacket (depending on weather), strap for glasses. We recommend using water resistant sunblock and bringing a change of clothes because you will get wet on this tour. Changing rooms are available after the tour.

DAY 8: ARENAL VOLCANO / MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK
Mid-morning transfer to the famous Manuel Antonio National Park, to HOTEL LA MANSION, Manuel Antonio National Park is deservedly the most popular park in Costa Rica with beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by emerald waters and jungle. (D)
DAY 9: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK

The park is made up of numerous trails, taking you through the rainforest and onto a number of pristine white sand beaches, only reachable through the park. The park is alive with tropical butterflies, birds, monkeys, snakes, iguanas, sloths, orchids and more. On this tour you’ll be able to learn about their life cycle and their special abilities and behaviors. For those that love nature and exploration, the walk within this park will be unforgettable.
Note: The National Park is closed on Monday. This tour will not be operated on that day.

DAY 11. SAN JOSÉ – END OF SERVICE.
Breakfast at the hotel and at the appointed hour; we will be transferring you to the International airport for your departure flight. Happy return trip and we hope to have you visit again. (B)
